Overview

To inspire others to think about the destructive effect of beauty stereotypes and/or alternatively, how more inclusive ideas can benefit society.

Research

According to the study, the perception on body shape can be changed after spending 30mins on media. (Amanda Pauley, 2018) People are unhappy with their own physiques after exposure on the social media. Advertisements, fancy pictures on social media can definitely shape the standards of beauty and create destructive effect of beauty stereotypes.

Thinking Process

As Venus de Milo represented "love and beauty", I used it as the visual device on this design. The big hand is holding her like a kind of control. She is trapped by the likes in social media and follow the trend to make herself "look better". The message behind the poster is to criticize the social media's negative impact on beauty standards.
